You know when i experienced my first period i had no one to consult. But i knew all there was to know about periods through close friends and teen movies. My mother knew i had my first period two months after that encounter. By that time i was not residing with her. When she i told her about it. I tried to make it seem like it's something we all go through. I hated having those conversations with her because once she'd start she'd never stop. What i realised is that sometimes we tend to blame our female parents or guardians for such issues. For not, "talking to us". Truth is it takes two to tango. They wont know what you're battling with if you also don't reach out to them. We sometimes expect our parents to be mediums. Which they are not. I say learn to speak out. No matter how akward it seems. When you start feeling more akward go at it even harder. Our parents will never know if we conceal and expect them to always know when we experience such things as periods. Some even forget that you're going to have periods and that's why there isn't the, "talk". Let's us learn as well to also reach. Met each other halfway.
